In 2008, Ho Chi MinhCity People's Committee allowed Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Corporation (VINACONEX) to study the Thu Thiem 2 Bridge Project and select a foreign architectural design consultant. In early 2010, the City People's Committee approved the architectural design proposal and allowed VINACONEX to develop the project of Thu Thiem 2 Bridge in the form of a BT contract. By the end of 2013, receiving the approval of the City Committee, Dai Quang Minh Corporation had negotiated and agreed to take over the project from VINACONEX. On May 31, 2014, Dai Quang Minh Corporation was selected by the City People's Committee to become the Thu Thiem 2 Bridge investor in the form of a BT contract, right after Dai Quang Minh paid VND800 billion to the city budget.
Dai Quang Minh also agreed that the construction plan will not affect Ba Son Corporation. Accordingly, the ground-breaking ceremony of Thu Thiem 2 Bridge was planned to take place on February 03, 2015, and scheduled to enter completion and operation on April 30, 2018. In case Ba Son Corporation can hand over the premises sooner, the completion time can be earlier than scheduled.
Dai Quang Minh Corporation is also the investor of the main traffic infrastructure projects in Thu Thiem New Urban Area such as: 4 main roads, Central Square, and Riverside Park; and the investor of Sala City on an area of over 100 ha in Thu Thiem.
Dai Quang Minh expects to complete and put all these projects into operation in 2018, helping to attract more investors to Thu Thiem.
